DETAILS: This game was a product of 2
different Asteroids Deluxe uprights. I
had one game that had a cabinet that was in
poor condition
but all the internals were in perfect shape
and working 100%, and I also
had another game that had a cabinet that
was in amazingly beautiful condition but
with a hacked up harness and missing several
interior parts. So EVERY single part
that was in the game with the
poor-conditioned cabinet went into the one
with the nice cabinet.
COSMETIC
RESTORATION: Complete transfer of
all cosmetic parts from another Asteroids
Deluxe (see "Details" above), installed 2
new blue color monitor overlays (available
at Wizzes Workshop - 2 were used as the
repros are thinner than the original and 2
is needed to achieve the same 'blueness' as
the orig.), an Asteroids Deluxe
glare reduction kit and a
NOS control panel overlay.
ELECTRICAL REPAIRS/UPGRADES: Transferred
the game pcb, R/A pcb, monitor, power
supply, harness and both fluorescent light
assemblies from another Asteroids Deluxe
(see "Details" above). Replaced the
power cord, the power filter capacitor, the
high voltage diode, the fluorescent lamp,
the black light white lamp, both fluorescent
lamp starters, the coin door reject button
lamps, and replaced the capacitors on
Regulator/Audio board. The Electrohome
G05-802 deflection and high voltage boards
were recapped and upgraded per the B/W
Vector Monitor FAQ (see the Odds & Ends
page).
MECHANICAL
RESTORATION: Cleaned the leaf
switch buttons and cleaned and serviced the
coin mechs.
