DETAILS: This game was obtained from
an ex-Atari employee, Tal Funke-Bilu, who
had bought it originally from Atari.
Tal worked on porting Rampart to the Lynx
and Jaguar systems, and while it was one of
his favorite games, he had no room for it
where he lived and as a result this game had
been at his parent's place unused for some
time. This game arrived in exceptional
condition, and it gets a lot of play during
game get-togethers held in the arcade.
COSMETIC
RESTORATION: Powder coated the coin doors and all the
coin door parts. Also a 1/8" piece of
acrylic was placed behind the marquee
translite (this 'sandwiched' the marquee,
keeping it flat between the outer glass and
in the acrylic piece).
ELECTRICAL REPAIRS/UPGRADES:
Replaced the power cord, the fluorescent lamp &
lamp starter & the coin door reject button
lamps. Also replaced all 6 optic pcbs
for the three trak-balls.
MECHANICAL
RESTORATION: Replaced the trak-ball
rollers and bearings for all 3 trak-balls. Also replaced
the 3 black balls with a translucent
yellow, red and blue
balls respectively and wired backlighting for
them.
Also, the coin mechs were cleaned and
serviced.

FAST FACT: Two versions of Rampart
exist: the dedicated 3-player trackball
version that was released in 1990, and the
2-player joystick kit version that was
released in 1991.
