DETAILS: This game was pried
out of the hands of a long-time collector
friend in Colorado. I had passed on
about 5 other Warlords cocktails over the
years as all of them had top glasses that
were badly scratched and/or had bubbled
graphics. This Warlords cocktail has a
really beautiful top glass and was
all-original as well.
This game
gets a lot of play during game night
get-togethers. The greatest thing
about this game is the fact that the game
play is very simplistic and up to 4 people
can play at once. Also, a game doesn't
last much more than a few minutes. The
thing that's most often said when people are
playing this game is "one more".
Several people that have visited the arcade
and played this game took an immediate
liking to it, and some of those people had
no affinity towards video games at all to
begin with.
COSMETIC
RESTORATION: Took off the frame
that surrounds the top glass and repainted
it, repainted the base, power coated the
control panels and applied new control panel
overlays to them (silkscreened Phoenix
Arcade versions). Replaced the player
start button cones and cleaned the spinner
knobs. Most recently, replaced the top
glass with a
reproduction glass from Phoenix Arcade.
ELECTRICAL REPAIRS/UPGRADES:
Replaced the power cord, the power filter
capacitor, the coin reject button lamps. and
replaced the capacitors on the
Regulator/Audio II board.
Additionally, all the capacitors on the
Sanyo 14" color monitor chassis were
replaced & a
high score save kit was installed.
MECHANICAL
RESTORATION: Cleaned and serviced
the coin mechs.
