Ah, but what you are doing isn't what he was doing. You're using just
the tube and keeping the original monitor yoke. He was trying to match
a monitor chassis to a donated CRT/yoke pair. And he wasn't even asking
what inductance the yoke was, just resistance readings! Doesn't sound
to me like you would get an ideal setup that way. Usable, maybe.
