MCR Special chips?

I have a bunch of MCR stuff I am trying to debug. (Starting with Spy
Hunter)

The video section seems to be driven by a set of custom proms. Has anyone
dug into just what in the heck these things are doing? And anyone know of
replacements if they are bad?

In particular the !634, !317, 511 signals.
