One other thing to keep in mind (at least here) is that the DSL folks don't
really care how much data you put down the phone line (the ISP will, but the
phone company doesn't) while the mere mention of connecting a server gets the
cable company all hot and bothered. They don't get upset that you might pull
data to yourself, but they don't want large amounts of bandwidth going from your
machine to the 'net.

I think my DSL is about $30 a month and my ISP is another 30 for my "sohodsl1"
account. (Yes, I was the first taker on this plan. Since then they have had
sohodsl2 and others join.)

Now if I'd just get the server going. I just won an auction bid for a pair of
60 gig Maxtors, so storage WON'T be a problem at all.
