Mitchell,
Actually I just use a dual (+15V , -15V), current limited (1.5A) power
supply and a couple of 1k resistors. Most of the "spot kill on" problems
in the XY boards are transisor related. Using the 1K resistors, I
"bias-up" the XY board at 15V. Now I can verify that the bias/output stage
circuits work correctly. Once they are working, you can remove the 1K
resistors and put the board back in the game to debug the rest of the XY
problems.
I've got some notes that I'll post to the vector list...
-Scott
PS As to special tools: 1. A homemade a cable that connects the dual power
to the monitor. 2. Two 1K resistors with clip leads on the ends. -S
