End of the year summary?

G'day folks,

A couple years ago, Mark Jenison did a nice job of sumarizing all the new
discoveries of that past year. Before we slide into the Xmas week, is
anyone game for doing this again?

ps - Obviously, I'd rather see a vector bias to the summary...."If it ain't
vector, then why bother?", is my motto.
