I'd be willing to replace a board after 20 years if it meant I didn't have to
reset my Defender every time I wanted to play it, or reset the options on my
Joust everytime I fire it up.

Just another "Tastes great, less filling" argument...there are pluses on both
sides. Hack with little maintenance (but maybe some minor problems) vs
Original with the possibility of major catastrophe down the road.
