Tech: Asteroids Deluxe Hack?

I recently traded for an Asteroids Deluxe (so nobody has an NOS
cpo?? :).. Anyway, the monitor glass (plexi) on it appears to be
original, but instead of it leaning away from the player, it
leans towards the player (you can see the reflection of the
butt-ugly control panel in it). The MG is longer than what I'm
used to seeing, and it bends at the bottom. The speaker is
actually between the MG and the mirror. Has anyone else seen
one like this? I'll try to throw some pics together this
weekend.

By the way, if it were just how I described, I would have still
guessed it to be a hack, but there are wooden pieces that are
mounted and painted that hold it in place. The paint looks
exactly the same as the other black in there, and the pieces
appear to be professionally cut and attached. I guess I really
need to get some pics to show you what I mean, but maybe you
guys have already seen one like this?
