Wierd G-80 Star Trek problem

Hello,

     I've got a really screwy problem with a Star Trek boardset - I'm getting
no sound, and a "bad rom 1856F" error in test mode. I've checked the rom
several times, and it tests good. I also replaced the socket, and checked
continuity withe the new socket. I'm still getting "bad rom 1856f".
     Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
