Is there any problem replacing a Zener diode with one of a larger wattage,
as long as the Vz is the same ?
I picked up a Space Duel yesterday that plays blind. The seller said it had
monitor problems, but it also doesn't have any X/Y output. Since there is
also no 6.8V on the 6.8V test point, I'm assuming that supply circuit
is bad.
I downloaded the schematics at work today, and it looks simple enough -- 1
resister, 1 zener, 1 cap. I'm figuring on picking those up on my way home
so I can play with it tonight. It calls for a 1n754A .4w diode.
The 1n5235B .5W seems to be a bit more common. Aside from confusing the
next guy who tries to fix it, is there a reson NOT to use this one ?
