Are you sure you don't mean Q604, not Q607?  I don't believe there is a Q607 on the deflection board.  Q604 and Q704 are two of the four transistors with heatsinks on the deflection board.  Gregg Woodcock's article recommends upgrading these from the original MPSU07 (or NTE188) to the beefier NTE49.  I have done this a half dozen times on P314 and P327 revision boards with no ill affects.  Would you mind if I asked what part that Bob substituted for these?
