Re: 6101 Def Board Prob

Hi All,

Ok. Tested with the output transistors unplugged and nothing blew. :) Now
I've reconnected them and am quick to turn off the power before the fuse
blows.

The problem seems to be in the low voltage circuit. Note - this was fully
replaced (except for the caps) with the parts in the Zannen kit.

The output from the bridge is a bit low: +30, -25. I've checked the diodes
(out of circuit) and they all seem fine.

The really weird thing is that where I should be getting +28 to the base of
Q102, I'm getting -5!

As I mentioned before, this board had ZD100 and ZD101 mis-labelled as R104
and R105. I put the new Zeners in following the schematic and confirming
orientation with another board (properly labelled).

Note, the transistors are ok - the monitor works perfectly with another def
board.

What did I screw up???"

Thanks,
-roy-
