G'day folks,
Perhaps you could simulate driving up to the volcano? I assume the code for
the "volcano on the horizon" is reasonably self contained since BZ history
says it was a contribution by another developer outside the BZ project.
To make the volcano appear on the playing field, jump around the "volcano on
the horizon" code AND place an enormous pyramid on the edge of the playing
field where the volcano use to be. I assume the triple size pyramid would
be moved around the screen just like the rest of the objects on the
playfield. Continue jumping around the "volcano on the horizon" code, until
the triple size pyramid finally scrolls of the screen.
I've assumed that scaling an object is easy. Clay has indicated that
creating new objects is significantly more difficult. But if a new pyramid
with an octagon footprint and eight lines to the peak could be created, that
could be used instead of a BIG standard pyramid in the "drive to the
volcano" scenario.

ps - Who's going to suggest how to simulate lava flying out the top or how
to determine if a person got hit by flying lava? I doubt it is possible to
drop blocks onto the playfield...that could simulate flying lava though.
Could Stone Hedge be created by stacking regular blocks? Again, I don't
know how well BZ handles objects in the third dimension (height).

Yeah, I want to be able to finally drive up and into the volcano. :-)
