Its stupid bodges like that that cause half the problems in the first place!
If u use switch cleaner (oil-solvent mix) all it will do is atract dirt, in six months you will be back here, only then u will have to clean all the eproms with isopropanol aswell!!!!
The simple answer is to replace ALL the sockets with decent(machined pin) type sockets.
as long as you have the soldering iron and braid(dont use a pump) handy you should resolder the nasty connector between the main pcb and the math board aswell.
