I must be starting with lower expectations. I moved in to find 1930 vintage
14 gauge wire serving 3-4 rooms with a 20 amp fuse behind it. Running new
wire at it's rated capacity doesn't bother me.
Still better then my parrents house -- when they moved in they found pennies
placed under the fuses. No joke !
Here's a good one I found: An outlet served by two BX cables -- one comming
from the basement feeding power, one disappearing up the wall. The black
wires from each cable were connected one to each side of the outlet, and the
two whites were twisted together.
And the outlet worked. Don't ask me how.
Damn -- I've gotten off topic, and just managed to depress myself about how
much more I want to do on the house, when I really want to fix more games.
