That is where the scaling DAC DAC08 comes in, by increasing or decreasing it's
analog output voltage (the reference for the X and X DAC's), thereby 'zooming'
into, or out of the 1024 x 1024 grid.
Although the AM6012 12 offer bits resolution, the most- and least significant
bits are not used, and thus leaving 10 bits, making 1024 possible combinations.
