I have a Tempest machine on which I've been working on and off for
about a year. After putting in a Zanen kit, an LV2000 board,
diagnosing and replacing several bad chips on the game board, and
tuning the monitor, I still have some problems I don't know how to
resolve.
First, the convergence will not line up, particularly the blue gun.
When I put the game into test mode with the convergence grids, and
select what should be magenta with the spinner, I can converge the
center of the screen, but at all four outer edges, the blue lines are
inside the red lines by about 1/8 inch. This does not affect game
play substantially, but I'd like it to be better.
Second, there is a pincushioning on the top and bottom edges, where
the horizontal lines bow inward slightly. The vertical lines seem
completely straight.
If someone could give me some hints on how I might work around this
problem, that would be great.
Finally (and I hope this doesn't violate any list policy on commercial
stuff), if someone knows where I can get a new marquis, mine is
somewhat damaged.
Marc
