Unless there were different versions of the game, rule A and B are one and
the same.
For rule A, you need to ask what it takes to destroy (not damage) the space
station. It's two hits.
Rule B, doesn't address the damage of the first hit (but you find out soon
enough! :-)

I have type B on the CPO. It plays by type A rules, however, the SD
board in place is not the original....
