Something in the 10-40 VAC centertap range. Guess I just need to find a good 1:1 center tap transformer and drive it with my variac.

What voltage range are you looking for? A Variac powering a center-tapped transformer is your only safe solution.

Is there any such beast? I need to work on a couple power supplies that take center tap AC in and of course I don't have equivalent transformers handy. But I have a variac, any way to make it think its center tap?
