OK, let's try this again. Do I need to bypass the resistor in the socket on
the focus or not?

Right; this was for "in case I kill the 4600 while I'm doing this the first
time" ease of swap. I'll do something more permanent when I get it working.

No need; the confusion should be cleared up now! I can't wait to give it a
try. Reread the notes and you'll see what I mean about it being unclear
about heater, etc.
