One I sometimes use is at
http://www.ee.washington.edu/circuit_archive/parts/cross.html. It appears to
be broader than the one at pacific semi. Another one is at
http://www.nteinc.com/search.html, and Moyer has a couple, too
(http://www.moyerelectronics.com/). Don't forget http://groups.google.com/;
most likely somebody sometime has asked about the component you're looking
for, and somebody has suggested a cross.
Once you find possible crosses, it's probably a good idea to check the
datasheets one against the other to be sure the sub you plan to use is OK.
http://www.freetradezone.com has a lot of datasheets, and they're still
free, altho I think you have to register.

For what it's worth I have found a cross-reference of NTE/ECG part numbers
(and hundreds of others!) to their real-world numbers, you can find it at
http://www.pacific-semi.com.
http://www.pacificsemi.com/download.php3 and grab the Cross Reference List.
Omar also sells semis for a very good price...
