Let me fill you all in on the DAC80s. I happened to be browsing for pinball
parts when the infamous Richard Chez had just started a bunch of
"box-o-parts" auctions on Ebay. He actually has some good deals this way
because he's too lazy to document what he really has and won't bother with
reserves. So I bought a 30 pound, 1 foot square box of parts from him for
about $100 (+ some totally absurd amount of shipping like $40) Why did I
pay so much? In his pathetic picture I could just barely make out what
looked like a single DAC80. Imagine my surprise when the box came and it
actually had dozens of them (buried) besides the visible one on top! So
it's not like I bought out some publicly available supply to gouge
collectors. When I first got them I emailed the list asking if anybody
needed them stating that I was perfectly willing to trade them for other
uncommon parts (don't recall if anybody took me up). I need to make up $150
so I began selling them on Ebay. $20 seems quite reasonable actually for
this part (possibly even under priced given that there are no other sources
of which I am aware). In any case, don't let price keep you from working
something out with me if you need one; there are enough things brewing that
I'd happily send you what you need in exchange for stuff you build/get
later.
