M8 CHILL!!!
What "VECTOR" game/monitor does that go in?: Any that you care to use a Fluke to
debug problems with...
I actually bet quite a few people employ Fuke test gear, and i'm certainly
interested to hear about ways to keep it running.
That's the first one i've seen from him since i've been subbed to the list (1
year?, 2?). Sure if it was regular pain in the arse levels then fine moan
away... (and no, i'm nothing to do with him).
Martin.

What "VECTOR" game/monitor does that go in?
I hope this FS spam does not become a regular thing on vectorlist too.. : (
Sure some ppl may use test equipment and be interested but its still barely
VECTOR related and is just a ploy to spam a large group of ppl to get some sales
for Art. Please dont let this become a habit and ruin our great source of
VECTOR game/monitor related information

Subject: VECTOR: Just repaired my first 9010a tape drive - parts available.
Unit did rewind properly, but did not pass read or write tests.
In r/w mode, tape made a rhythmic 'clinking' sound as it moved. Cause was a
permanent dimple in the play drive wheel rubber caused by unit being in storage
for many years.
Replaced the play drive wheel (Braemar part # 800-0134-002) and while I had the
unit open, also replaced the rewind drive wheel (Braemar part # 800-0133-001).
Reassembled, cleaned head with denatured alcohol and a cotton swab, and read and
write are now working properly.
Parts are available from me at my cost, plus inbound shipping, plus $3.85
outbound flat rate shipping to cover my cost on sending kits (that is $3.85 for
as many kits as you want, not $3.85 per kit).
The play hub kit is $16.75, the rewind hub kit is $18.75 (these prices include
inbound shipping that Braemar is charging me) and if you are doing more than one
drive, and/or have a habit of losing little parts and clips (don't we all), I
also have the hub driver kits as well (part # 800-0132-001), with the hub spokes
and lots of little washers and locking washers, enough to replace all the little
hub parts on both play and take-up hubs, $13.75.
Please order directly from me as a response to this email; I plan on offering
these parts at a markup on eBay, so the prices will be higher. I am selling at
my cost only to vectorlist and techtool list members, and will be marking items
up on eBay and newgroup offerings.
I will also see if I can get some sort of deal on the tapes for these drives
from the factory. The factory person is friendly enough, and willing to sell to
me, but she sure isn't used to my negotiating style :)
