I *always* test the low voltage section first and then move on..

To fix the LV section permanently, replace the MPSA56 with a MPSU57 and the MPSA06 with a MPSU07.. Those will almost never fail.. I have had fewer problems with doing that than the LV2k..

My main issue with the lv2k is that when they do fail (and yes, they do fail) you can't repair them easily because all the new ones are surface mount.

You can test the low voltage section of a WG deflection board without
connecting it to any other components. I'd recommend doing this first
(not least because low voltage failures are very common) before fully
connecting it. Avoid blowing power transistors and the like.

I don't have the schematics handy, but there is a JPEG on the LV2000 site
which you can generalise back to the standard design.
