mathbox compatibility

I should probably know this, but has anyone successfully grafted a Tempest
mathbox onto a Battlezone? I know the Red Baron mathbox is a little too
different to be a drop in replacement, but the Tempest mathbox?

Before I dig through the schematics I was wondering if anyone else has
tried this.
