Battlezone Roms ( 2716 ?) , IC sockets, proms and repair tips !!!

Hi Guys,

I may need to blow some more roms for Battlezone.... Can I use plain old 2716's ? (or does it need something special).

The ones I've got consist or about 3 different types, so they must have come out of a few different boardsets, they verify OK, but the lower one in B/C3 is missing.

I've made a start on the sockets.... Done CPU one so far.

One thing I noticed is that the sockets look in good condition, So should I bother to replace these ? From what I have read, its standard practice to replace them all as it solves a LOT of problems.

If I pull and verify the 'proms', is that a good enough test, or should I still worry ?

Finally... is there a dump of the Prom in K7 ?

Any advice would be most welcomed. (especially any tips for isolating faulty sections of the avg)
