I think Dag was short for AquaDag a coating of graphite paint on the back
of the CRT. Aquadag was a tradename. You can also get Oildag , GreDag and
AlcoholDag!. You can buy something similar which I used at one point to
spray the inside of data outlets back in the data to minimise interference
