Check for stuck switches. Not sure about Lunar Lander, but stuck
switches have caused weird stuff on other games (stuck serve switch on
Breakout causes blocks not to reset, stuck player 1 start on Blasteroids
makes game appear dead, stuck start button on Speed Freak causes power
up into self test, etc). Perhaps stuck/shorted slam switch on coin door
causing constant board reset??

On some games you can unplug the control panel and/or coin door. If that
option is available you might try it.
