Star Ware yoke gears grinding...

My Star Wars is set up at work, and gets a fair amount of play.

Last week I noticed that the Y travel was very stiff, and had a
grinding feel/sound like the gear teeth were not meshing properly. I
opened up the upper housing, and I can't see an obvious misalignment.

Is this something I can adjust away?
Should I just squirt some silicone grease in there?
Is it dooooooooomed?
