Hello all,
OK, since my G08 flameup the other day, I've rebuilt the sections of the
monitor that were affected and am now getting beautiful crisp lines. The
horizontal deflection circuit (which had burned) is performing like a champ
with its new flameproof resistors at R636 and across the emitter and
collector of the output transistor.
I'm now having some trouble with the vertical deflection circuit; I've got
the top half of a picture but no bottom. I checked the output transistors
and they're all good. By adjusting the vertical centering, I can get the
picture to move above and below the zero line in the middle of the screen,
so I think the custom chip is also still good.
Can somebody tell me which components in a G08-003 govern the positive
(downward, right?) deflection and which handle the negative (upward, I
assume)? The G08 FAQ as it currently exists isn't much help and I'm having
no luck zeroing in on this so far. It's kind of hard to take readings on
this monitor while it's powered up.
Thanks!
-Lewis
P.S.: Man, these are kind of frustrating to work on... I feel like sticking
a 6100 in this stupid cab.
