Ever wonder if the 5101 is only there for book keeping information, and
was never made to store high scores?
Looking through the manual, there is some writing that bost's the new
feature of book keeping, that persists even if the power has turned off.
It did not mention high scores.
Just a thought (as he pulls out his z80 instruction set manual).

One other odd thing..
I though maybe since all 3 boards are doing it, it might have to do with
the freeplay enabled. So I turned that off.. In test mode it shows the
high score.. but you can also enter 'test credits' that are stored
seperate from regular credits in coin slot 1 and 2. I put in a couple
test credits there.. I went out of test mode and put in a couple credits
in one of the slots, went back to test and those had also registered in
bookeeping. Went out of test mode, and 4 credits showed up as available.
Turned machine off and on. High score was erased, but bookeeping stats
for the coins remained.. all of the average playtimes..etc.. for the
gameplay were erased, but credits remained in memory and showed up
outside of test mode.. Its almost like one part of the thing is getting
erased only..
Does anyone who has a working boardset saving memory want to tell me the
dip switch settings? I think 5,6,7 on both were off. I turned 7 on on
the bank closest to the main pcb to get it out of test mode but left all
else the same.. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with this
and is not in the manual...
