You guys don't need my input on this, but I also advocate the Fluke
solution. I also have one of the older-style analog RS clamshell meters,
but I keep that in the RV for emergencies and use the Flukes for day-to-day
lab and shop work. I found that the zeroing dial got a little flakey after
extended periods of non-use, so I pulled out the batteries and now only use
the RS meter for VDC and VAC measurements (caution - it's not a true-RMS
measurement).

The calibration method involved a 9V battery, a zener diode, and a calibration pot on the DMM. Really what you need is a known precise voltage source. The zener and battery gives a known voltage, which you set the DMM to. This is still my main DMM today. ========================================================== Chris Candreva -- chris@westnet.com -- (914) 948-3162 WestNet Internet Services of Westchester http://www.westnet.com/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Unsubscribe, subscribe, or view the archives at http://www.vectorlist.org ** Please direct other questions, comments, or problems to chris@westnet.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Unsubscribe, subscribe, or view the archives at http://www.vectorlist.org ** Please direct other questions, comments, or problems to chris@westnet.comReceived on Wed Apr 1 10:28:00 2009
