Nice work on the OR spinner boards, Bill!
I'm pretty fortunate that I have a good one on mine. When I did my OR
project, I actually built two from five cabinets. I started with two
uprights and three cabarets and "frankensteien-ed" the best parts
together into one of each kind. Among them, I had a couple different
kinds of spinners to choose from. One was a relatively large box,
maybe 2"x2" with very clunky action. The other was the size of a pot
(directional encoder of some sort?) that connects to some sort of
board in-between, which in turn connected to the game board. Now,
THIS spinner had a very smooth feel to it and a very fine control
translation to the screen. This is the one that's now in my upright
and it plays very well.
I'm wondering if I didn't get some of the gel values from the
Vectorlist way back when. I simply can't recall. It's been a long
time! Date on the receipt says 02JUN00.
