Amplifone modification.

Hi.. Noob here, sorry if this is a FAQ, but I have been unable to find an answer to something that seems sort of basic.

I am working on repairing a Ampliphone 19 for Star Wars, and read the FAQ (v1.2) document.

I also see different "diode modifications". One (page 33, step 2) uses 4 X 1N5342B, and 4 X 1N4002... The other (on page 47) uses 6 X 1N4002, 2 X 1N754A, 2X 1N756A, and 2 X 12ohm resistors.. There is also another version on Page 46, but that looks the same as the one on 47 (or am I missing sometihng?)

The FAQ does not discuss what specification the modifications do. The first one is part of the upgrade procedure, but the second one is just added on to the end.. It seems to be the same as this official-looking Atari document;

So, do I do either? neither? or both??
