FWIW (practically nothing), I've never seen it done. I'm only speaking up
because Scott referred to my site. M. Spaeth would have a more
authoritative and correct answer if he responds.

Subject: VECTOR: Can a Tempest transformer power block be used with a
19V2000?
A long time ago I bought what I thought was an asteroids power transformer
block so that I could build a test bench setup for use with a B&W 19V2000
vector monitor. Today I realized I have a Tempest transformer block
(transformer: A037395) which from Alex's site appears was used in Tempest,
Major Havoc, Gravitar, maybe others?? From a quick look at the schems
it appears the tempest one might output only 50 VAC CT, and the asteroids
type ones output 60 VAC CT.
My question is, is there a way I can use this tempest transformer block to
power my 19V2000 in an asteroids/asteroids deluxe type bench setup? Or
Do I need to get me an asteroids (or equiv) power block?
Thanks for any pointers.
