Coin mech coil levers

Hey Group,

 After putting several hours into my FREE basketcase Tempest machine, I finally powered it up only to find........ correct high and low voltages but no video.

 I should have all of the info I need to fix it but was more interested in the coin mech coil levers. They were rolling around in the cabinet. My question is, after scratching my head trying to figure out what the heck they were, why would they have been intentionally removed? I have not read anything about them causing trouble.
