Kevin:
I don't know if you ever e-mailed David about the chip request we have.
I ordered $200 worth of vector specific chips and haven't received any
yet. I am cutting and pasting his PMs to me. If you could send him a
specific list of what we want/need as I will certainly fuck it up, that
would be cool. You may have already done this, I don't know.
When you come over on Sunday, remind me to dig out the tubes of chips I
have so that you can take a look at them to see if I have anything you
can use to fix stuff. Volcano is very active so be sure to call first
before coming over on Sunday. I shall try to e-mail you if I get back
home on Saturday night.
PM's follow
14 Jan:
Hey Pat,
Good to hear from you. SO glad to be back among the living. LOL Now I
know what all the complaints are about when it comes to sinus
infections. I've never hurt so bad before!! I guess I was lucky because
I only had to deal with it a relatively short period of time.
I have all sorts of components. Give me some $$ and I'll put together a
load of parts for you that you won't be displeased with. :-) I work on
Atari boards more than anything, so my component cache is very
Atari-friendly. Whatever you get, I'll make sure to throw together a
pile that's over-the-top for you.
Talk to you soon.
Dave

awaiting payment on some parts and then should be able to send you some
cash for chips. I am needing anything to fix a bunch of Star Wars and
other Atari game boards. I'm good on pokeys but need all the other
stuff. What do you have left and what price are you asking? No rush on
this stuff. Just trying to finish up a deal we started about a month
ago.

15 March:
Hey Pat,
I could have sworn that you asked me to hold off. I forget if you
wanted to change it up a bit or if you were flying somewhere and just
wanted me to hold off. I also recall another conversation about Tempest
PROMs? I recall "126"... I was looking for my stash of PROMs and I
found them on Friday when I dug through the most recent pallet of
parts, but I could not remember what you wanted exactly. Remind me and
I'll sort through them now that I have the parts out in the open.
Worst case, if I don't have those PROMs (which I think I have a TON of
them ready to go - I used to do repairs on the order of $4000/weekend
back in the day, so I'm fully stocked!), I can program some fresh ones
for you. I'm sure I have blank PROMs ready to go somewhere in my
stash....and I have a good idea where those boxes are, too. I just saw
them on Friday, in fact.
Anyhow, Kevin later asked me about the PROMs, I responded a couple of
times, but got nothing in reply from him about that specific topic, so
I let it go. I gave him a decent list of crosses for the type of PROM
he was asking about, too. Did he and I have any trouble with
communication? I recall that conversation specifically, because I was
excited to help you and Kevin out. It's not often I get to do something
for YOU, so I'm eager to help. :-)
Sorry if we had any disconnect on what was supposed to take place
there. I'll make it all good.
Let's discuss and you can tell me what you'd like. I'll get it to you.
Anything at all that you need, let me know. I have all sorts of good
stuff.
Dave
29 March:
BTW, I was able to find the tubes of blank 74S288 PROMs. How many would
you like? These are nearly impossible to find anymore (actual 74S288),
but here I am with several tubes of them. :-)
Let me know.
Dave
Another 29 March:
Hi Pat,
You got it. I'll start rounding up parts for you. :-)
FYI, I am completely out of AM6012, AD561JD, MC1495L and TMS2532A.
I'm about to get more of the TMS2532A, but I'm still waiting on quotes
for the other three. I get these parts for MUCH cheaper than anyone
else in our group can, so I stock up, sell them off, stock up again,
sell them off... It's a cycle for me. I don't make anything on it, but
I'm able to supply the group with parts and earn some brownie points
while I'm at it - maybe people will remember how cool I am when they're
about to go into witch-hunt mode. LOL
I do have LM13201, so that's easy. I also have 2114, 4116, 2101, etc,
etc, etc lots of RAM. Those PROMs, of course.
Do you have anymore ideas on what you'd like? I'll contact Kevin and
see if he can offer up any ideas. I'd like to make sure you can USE
what I send over.
I'll contact my sources and see if I can speed up the process on
resupplying myself with those other part numbers more quickly.
Talk to you soon.
Dave
Final 29 March:
Hi Pat,
You got it. When you have a moment, could you let Kevin know to talk to
me about it? I've emailed him a couple of different times about this
general topic, but I have not received a response yet -- maybe he's
waiting for you to OK it? I really want you taken care of, so the
sooner the better. :-)
Thanks and have a great week!!
Dave

right parts at the right time. Just work with Kevin and when you get
the order filled that will be fine. Don't let this little order detract

That is where we are at. He is pretty busy with his secret project so
we shall see what happens. Figured the least we could do is get those
PROMs
for Tempest.
Thanks for reading
Pat
