Everyone, thanks for your suggestions and help. The problem is now fixed! :-)
To answer Andrew's question...no, I was not getting neck glow, which was really puzzling considering all of the things I had checked.
The issue was that in my initial tube connector disassembly I didn't get one of the heater pins all of the way back into the tube connector, so it was not making proper contact. Tonight I re-opened the connector, pushed the heater pin all of the way in, reassembled the tube connector and everything lit up again! This Star Wars cockpit is alive again after who knows how many years of being converted into a Great 1000 Mile Rally. Now, I "just" need to figure out how to get my newly assembled 25" "Amplifone" monitor converged and adjusted properly. But maybe I'll play a few games first.... :-)
Thanks everyone!
Scott

Amplifone monitor - need some help debugging issue!
Thanks for the reply. Can you be
more specific? I would think that a problem in the game pcb would
result in the spot killer being on. I guess I could have two
issues...a game board problem and a problem with the spot killer on the
deflection board....perhaps my judgment is colored by the fact that the
game pcb was pulled working from the same upright that my working Amp HV
pcb came from. I will try scoping the game pcb to make sure the
game pcb is still working. Also, though I didn't mention it, I did
install a cinelabs HV flyback when I rebuilt the HV pcb 18 mos
ago.
Thanks,
Scott
