Try the pots on the HV unit (don't have the faq in front of me). One of
them controls how sensitive it is to shutting down the hv unit when vector
inputs are "off". You may see this same effect when the test mode is going
through sound tests and the screen goes black between tests, the monitor
will bloom when the next sound test starts.
