I'm the same way, but you know, it's very uneconomical and I've been doing it that way for years :)

Recently I've picked up the pace, ultimately I have bills to pay and my head is already jammed with enough info :)

I still never shotgun replace, but with comparison methods you can find the faults quicker, just with little understanding of what's causing the actual fault.

The way I look at it is - if I finish the repair quicker, I can move onto more interesting stuff that I can really get my brain stuck into :)
