Heya Al (and all...),

From my experience... Sometimes it is impossible to adjust the convergence
on a monitor with just the purity rings. This is why manufacturers use the
magnetic strips (long white pieces of plastic with a magnet at the end.
Normally placed under the deflection coils on the tube). If you have lost a
magnetic strip, you might be fighting a losing battle.
