There is no FAQ that I know of.
Common problems with the B/W XY monitors (both the G05 and
19V2000) are cold solder joints and, a bad HV diode. THe deflection
circuitry is similar to that in the COlor XY monitors, but seems
to fail in a more spectacular manner (I've got about a dozen B/W
XY boards with BAD burn marks and seriously toasted resistors in
the deflection amp sections.
Both the HV and LV regulator (I forget if there even is a LV
regulator in those monitors -- I'm sure there is, I just can't remember
its schematic at the moment) seem to be very reliable to me (i.e. I
haven't seen any failures with those sections)
Common knowledge seemed to suggest that those monitors are
more reliable than the color XY monitors, but, in my experience,
they are at least as unreliable, so, no, the answer to your question
isn't "You'll never have any problems with that monitor." At least
not in my experience.
