Omar,
I said we might raise our prices if the price of manufacturing the
PCBs goes up.
I don't see what the problem is if we are charged a dollar more, to raise
our price by a dollar.
We also outlay a huge chunk of cash, and if we don't sell enough to break
even, we get stuck with a bunch of inventory.
We also put these charges on a credit card and we have to pay interest on
that money, which means the longer we hang on to something, the more it ends
up costing us.
Also, I don't know where you found caps for those prices you posted. (the
cheapest I have been able to find a 25V 10mF tantalum cap is $.40 in
quantities of 100+, so just that cap alone costs us $.80 per board)
Tell you what, you find us cheaper parts and you loan us the money we need
(we'll pay you back, without interest) and we will keep our prices low, or
maybe even make them lower.

Andrew,
You missed the point. I didn't say there was anything wrong with selling
them. I can understand if they said that they took a while to assemble or
no one else is doing this so we will up our price. I can't understand why
they would say they were increasing the price because "material costs" were
so high. I was trying to set the record straight on THAT ONE POINT ONLY.
I'm glad they went to the effort and have had a market for them.
Omar
