Hey Everyone,
I've been on this list for over a year now I think and I usually keep
out of the discussions because they are so far above me (but I read and
learn). Anyway, I have a problem with my BattelZone with a WG 19V2000
monitor in it. I recapped the monitor about a year ago and have had
this problem off and on, but it seems to be heat related. Let me
explain.
When the machine is in a cold environment, such as my attached garage in
the winter, it works great. Solids clean picture.
Now that summer is here, the garage is warmer, the screen changes size
both top and bottom and sorta "Jumps" from being a squished screen (top
& bottom) to a normal size screen.
First question. Look at the AVG board or the monitor first?
Second question: If the monitor, any clues where to start? It "Seems"
like a pretty simple device, but what do I know? I tightened down all
of the deflection transistors. No change. Tried freeze spraying the
AVG board. Nada. I have no clue where to look next.
Anyone want to offer any help? I'd really appreciate it. If I had a
scope I'd try seeing if the board was good or not, but I don't. Just
need some pointers on where to start.
Thanks for reading,
-Al-
