I have made some great progress on my ESB restoration. The cosmetic repair
on the cabinet is nearly complete, and the machine now operates. A WinTron
HV unit has been installed, and the machine plays well. There are just a
few minor details that keep it from being complete.
Having never seen an ESB machine in the flesh, I'm at a loss for exactly how
to place the side stickers. The best view I've seen is on the gamearchive
site,

but it's a 3/4 view, which makes it hard to see exactly how the stickers are
placed on the sides. Does anyone have a better picture of the side of the
machine so that I can easily see the placement of this sticker?
Once that's complete, I need to work on the volume control assembly. With
the utility panel unplugged, I get full volume. That's almost painfully
loud! When I plug the panel in, I get only a very quiet level, even when
the pot is turned all the way to max volume. The volume doesn't change at
all as I swing the knob. I checked with an ohm meter to see what was going
on, and I do read 0 to 50 ohms at the molex connector as I swing the knob
from one extreme to another. I'm not sure if this is a connector problem or
not yet.
Thanks for any help with either problem!
