Hello Guys,
Remember me?
A few months ago I was able to fix my Tempest boardset (two TTL ic's at fault) ,
thanks to all of you who helped me
with great advice.
Now I have just made the dummest mistake you canever imagine to do...
WHY HAS ATARI labeled two interchangable connectors on the Audio REGII J9 and
J6??? Ofcourse... While the board was upside down I swapped these 36V (J6) unreg
and the 10.3 DC unreg (J9) connectors, thereby blowing a straight way through
the two protection diode's on the ARII and straight into my tempest board.
Never seen so much fireworks when 2 of the AMD tansitor array chips bursted into
flames and left both boards completely dead. Even the clock isn't ticking
anymore.
So... What have we learned now? make sure a '9' is really a '9' and not a '6'!
:(
Anyway, I don't want to search the rest of my life for all the defects on this
board. I would really like it if someone is willing so sell a working boardset
to me... I would be eternally gratefull...
Let me know if you are the one willing to get one of the 3 known Tempest's in
the Netherlands back to life! :)
Mendel
