Continuous HV crackle in Tempest monitor

Hello all. I'm a long time reader but don't post very often (only when
I need help). Anyway...

I just had the back off my Tempest and noticed that the HV cage was
quite noisy. Its not a whine but a crackle (sort of like what you hear
when you first power up a monitor but its continuous). I never noticed
this before, is it normal? Any suggestions? I did just move the
machine (from home to work) but it could have been that way before.

I have to say that the image is perfect since I finally got around to
ever-so-slightly putting it out of focus. It really looks great.

This is a standard monitor + LV2000 + Zannen Kit. When I first got it
a couple of years ago it was dead but I got it up and running with the
help of the Vector list (cracked joints/traces, thanks again). I am
concerned that I don't recall going through the adjustment procedure
for the pot in the HV cage (it may be that I didn't replace it, I just
don't remember).

Thanks.

Dan Rasmussen
