Clay, how do you DO it?

Dunno if you've already addressed this elsewhere before, Clay, but as a
hardware guy I simply must find out from a pro: How do you actually program
a game, such as _Battlezone_ or _Tempest_? I can fix boards and test chips
till the cows come home, but when it comes to pushing bits around through
software, I'm totally lost. I understand that you've disassembled the hex
codes and can reverse-engineer it, so can you tell us exactly how it all
works?
